Compared to other retailers on average, Target deductions are one of the quickest to resolve fines. At Target, the average time it takes for a dispute to move from submission to approval is 27 days. Having proper documentation and understanding the rules at play in Target’s disputing game are the best tools to have on hand for whittling down this timeline.

By the books, their SLA for resolving dispute cases in Synergy is 30 days. Thankfully, it is rare that they don't meet this level of service.

Important to note is this can vary by the type of deduction being disputed, as different teams within Target will work different types of deductions. See below for a quick understanding of the general dispute response time frame for the various deduction types.

  • Invoice Match and Returns: 27 days on average

  • Unpaid Invoices: 27 days on average

  • Compliance: 9 days on average

  • Target Vendor Income (TVI, contracts): 40 days
