Description
Code 43s are chargebacks typically invoiced from a post-audit or from Walmart Accounts Receivable. These charges are for the freight costs that Walmart feels they incurred in error for shipments that should have been shipped as prepaid to a consolidator. Typically, the chargeback encompasses multiple shipments across a period of time.
How to Prevent Valid Code 43s
Always ship orders in accordance with your supplier agreement (i.e., if you are supposed to ship Prepaid, do not request a Collect pickup)
Can it be Disputed?
Since code 43s are usually either from a post audit or AR chargebacks, they can be difficult to win back. However, you should be able to fight the charge in one of two ways:
If received from a post audit, dispute directly with the auditor when you receive notice of the audit, or submit a backup request through the GBS portal
If received via Walmart AR, backup should be available in the High Radius portal, and you can submit a dispute there.
