What is a Load Number?
A load number is a reference number for the shipment. It can be used to identify or track what or where a shipment is.
Where does Supplypike get the Load Number from?
Our system pulls the "BOL" number from the 810 EDI invoice document from APIS and uses that as the load number. That field can be manually edited if needed.
Is the Load Number required?
Sort of. Walmart will expect some sort of entry in the load number field if you dispute certain codes, but claims have not been affected negatively so far for using an incorrect load number.
Can you use the Load Number off of the BOL/POD I've provided?
As of now, sadly not. Our system doesn't use the BOL/POD document as a reference for any information. Please keep in mind the load number is not required to be correct for the claim to be worked in APDP.
