Understanding the Best Time to Submit a Dispute

A healthy collection of dispute data has helped SupplyPike identify the best time to submit a dispute of In Full fines, to receive the largest payback possible.

Based on this supporting data, we’ve identified the best time to submit a dispute is between 60-150 days after the invoice date.

Fines are usually posted and invoiced at the end of the following month. For example, March’s fines would be posted around 4/30/2023 or a month after March has ended. Given the data we have collected, the best time to dispute March fines would be between 6/30/2023-9/30/2023.

To avoid having to do this math on your own each time, our app now buckets disputes into timeliness categories with this Information Card on the Orders Page

Wait to Dispute:

The Dispute Timeliness column shows how long you should wait before disputing. In this case it says to Wait 60 more days before disputing. Even though it says to wait, you can still dispute ahead of this optimal window if you choose.

Ready to Dispute:

In this instance, the dispute is ready and in the optimal dispute window noted by the green “Optimal” in the Dispute Timeliness column. This means that this month of fines is within the 60-150 day window where the highest payback on average is available.

Maturing Dispute:

Disputes noted as “Maturing” in the Dispute Timeliness column are still available to dispute and still do have success, but have had lower paybacks on average than the Optimal window. We recommend these all are still disputed.

Expiring Soon Dispute:

When the Dispute Timeliness column says "Expiring Soon", we recommend submitting a dispute as soon as possible. High Radius will no longer be able to review the dispute if it falls out of the 13 month window of invoiced months. Once a new month of fines is posted, the oldest of the 13 months becomes no longer available. If something is expiring soon, there is 2 months for it to be submitted and reviewed before those fines are deleted.

Expired Dispute:

If a dispute says "Expired", it is no longer within the 13 month window that High Radius mentions when reviewing disputes. Disputes can still be submitted but are very unlikely to win based on the lack of data available based on what they check in High Radius.

We hope this is helpful and happy disputing!
