SupplyPike not only wants to help you dispute and recover deductions, we want to help you understand WHY you received deductions in the first place, and what you may be able to do to prevent these deductions in the future.

If you can prevent deductions from occurring, this improves cash flow on top of eliminating the time it takes to deal with deductions.

Our Root Cause feature will be started with shortage deductions (codes 22, 23, 24, and 28) and will be rolled out for additional codes over time.

The listed root cause helps you understand three things on each deduction:

  1. The likely reason for the deduction, whether it be an issue caused on your side, or the retailer's side.

  2. The data we used to determine the reason, so you can see our homework and how we came to this judgment.

  3. Actions to consider taking, including whether to dispute, and what could be done to prevent these deductions going forward.

How does SupplyPike determine root cause and actions to consider?

SupplyPike has years of experience working with hundreds of vendors to identify, analyze root cause, and prevent and recover deductions. We've applied this experience to the data that we pull together from multiple sources to make the best root cause and suggested actions that the data supports. This judgment is automatically enabled for each deduction.

There could be more data that exists elsewhere that might tell a different story, therefore we always recommend to review these results before implementing any supply chain process changes.

Our aim is to reduce much of the leg work going into this process of identifying causes, getting better, and preventing deductions.

What does this Root Cause feature look like?

Root cause data can be found in several places, including each page in our Deductions app and the export.

Dashboard

Root causes will be rolled up in a new Dashboard table, so you can see the total count and dollar amount of deductions with these root causes.

โ€‹List View Filter

You can filter for deductions by root cause with this new List View filter.

Export

The root cause will be listed under the "validityReason" column in both the Deductions and Claim Lines export.

Deduction Details

For any deduction with a root cause, you can see the Root Cause information listed underneath the Order Information on the left side.

By default, the table showing the items related to the root cause are hidden, but this can be shown by clicking Show Table on the right side of the window.
