While the Walmart OTIF app in SupplyPike does a good job providing visibility into fines and the ability to dispute them, we decided to go even further with our Root Cause feature.

Our goal is to take you one step closer to the reason behind your fines so you can continue to prevent them going forward.

The feature will start out with information specific to In Full fines and continue to expand into Prepaid and Collect charges from there.

The details behind each root cause help you understand three things on each fine:

  1. The likely reason for the fine, whether it be an issue caused on your side, or the retailer's side.

  2. The data we used to determine the reason, so you can see our homework and how we came to this judgment.

  3. Actions to consider taking, including whether to dispute, and what could be done to prevent these deductions going forward.

How does SupplyPike determine root cause and actions to consider?

SupplyPike has years of experience working with hundreds of vendors to identify and analyze root causes, and prevent and recover OTIF fines. We've applied this experience to the data that we pull together from multiple sources to make the best root cause judgment and suggested actions that the data supports. This judgment is automatically enabled for each fine that a root cause is found.

There could be more data that exists elsewhere that might tell a different story, therefore we always recommend to review these results before implementing any supply chain process changes.

Our aim is to reduce much of the leg work going into this process of identifying causes, getting better, and preventing charges.

What does this Root Cause feature look like?

Root cause data can be found in the Order Details page, a filter available on the Orders page, and a Dashboard card!

Dashboard
Root causes will be rolled up in a new Dashboard table, so you can see the total count and dollar amount of PO lines with these root causes.

Orders Page Filter

You can filter for fines by root cause with this new List View filter in the Orders Page.

Order Details

For any in full fine, you can see the Root Cause information listed underneath the Purchase Order Details card. It is attached to the Compliance Issue card on the right side.

By default, the checklist showing how we arrived at the root cause are hidden, but this can be shown by clicking Show Checklist on the right side of the window.
